There are few better places to take wedding and elopement photos than at San Francisco City Hall. The grand halls and very lavish architecture combine to make the best backdrop for photos I think I’ve ever seen.
DID YOU KNOW? For the holiday season, usually right after Thanksgiving weekend, SF City Hall puts up a giant Christmas tree in the rotunda. The tree is complimented by another tree outside. You can see the tree in action in Janet & Tim’s wedding photos below.
Janet and Tim chose to have their wedding ceremony on the fourth floor of San Francisco City Hall in early December. They rented chairs from SF City Hall for the two-hour ceremony and brought in their own officiant. I met them at their hotel room, which was the Courtyard By Marriott San Francisco Downtown/Van Ness Ave. They had a suite that was big enough for the both of them to comfortably get ready in. The adjacent room had a giant window that let in the perfect amount of natural light for Janet’s hair and makeup, and for me to take getting ready photos.
After the getting ready photos, I rode with them to SF City Hall, where we parked in the underground parking lot. Their ceremony was attended by their closest family and friends, and kept short and sweet. We took many family group photos and had plenty of time leftover for couples portraits. How beautiful does this couple look on their wedding day?! I’m so grateful they chose me as their photographer!
