Photo by Tram Tran, It’s a Snap Media | Desert Views is a wedding venue in Apache Junction, AZ open until 11pm. It offers a private setting with panoramic views of the Superstition Mountains, 6,000 sq ft reception space, 3,000 sq ft ceremony chapel, and outdoor ceremony space with turf. Read more about Desert Views below.

A new bombshell has entered the desert: Desert View Wedding and Events is an all-inclusive wedding venue located in Apache Junction, Arizona. It’s located only 30 minutes from Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport. As a venue with beautiful views of the Superstition Mountains from inside and out, Desert View is absolutely stunning! You can choose from two customizable packages that let you bring in outside vendors, like photographers.

This beautiful venue has clean lines that give weddings a simple, but sophisticated canvas for a day that was anything but ordinary.

Ceremony Spaces

The venue offers two ceremony options: an outdoor courtyard ceremony on the turf or in the stunning 6,000 sq. ft. wedding chapel. Both options are great because there are fabulous views of the Superstition Mountains. The chapel has a wall of accordion, bi-fold glass doors that open. This great feature allows you to be married indoors with the fresh air from outdoors coming in.

This outdoor courtyard space at Desert View offers amazing views of the Superstition Mountains. Couples can rent marquee letters, furniture, and yard games for cocktail and reception hour.

Reception Spaces

Cocktail hour is held outside on the courtyard, which is between the chapel and reception building. The 3,000 sq. ft. reception building is large enough to hold 225 guests. Both the chapel and event reception spaces are temperature controlled and can host weddings and events throughout the year, even with hot summers in Arizona. The AC feels great when we step inside for a break during couples portraits.

The venue recently added stairs from the reception space down to the cacti, to make the trek in heels for golden hour photos easier.

Beauty from All around

Both indoor spaces have a wall of windows that give you a view of the Superstition Mountains so guests will be wow’d throughout the entirety of the wedding celebrations. After a ceremony, cocktail hour can be enjoyed outdoors in the courtyard. You can host yard games (shown above) to entertain guests and enjoy drinks from a mobile bar. The venue allows you to bring your own alcohol to serve too.

Desert View has a simple and timeless design. Because of it’s simplicity, any design schema would compliment the space. Either all-white florals, or a more colorful vibe both work really well here.

Best times of Year to get Married at Desert View Wedding Venue

The best timeframe to get married at Desert View is between October through April to maximize guest comfort when outdoors.

This photo of a wedding ceremony at Desert View is exposed for the mountains, hence why the subject (the couple and their guests) are dark.

Wedding photography at Desert view

The only complicated factor you need to be aware of when it comes to wedding photography at Desert View is the lighting situation in the chapel during some times of year and day in the ceremony chapel. It will be difficult to expose for both the couple and the mountain background if the sun is very bright and at its peak. When photographers shoot, they can either choose to expose to highlight their subjects, or for the background. The high contrast of the darkness inside the chapel and the ultra brightness outside is difficult to work with. This can mean that your ceremony photos inside the chapel will have less mountain outdoor details.

To best tackle this factor, choose a ceremony time that is later in the day. This time will depend on the time of year. Because the sun will be low after your ceremony is over, do a first look with your partner so you can get most of your photos done and out of the way.

The sun is your most important vendor, and unlike your florist or DJ, the sun doesn’t RSVP! She just shows up, whether you’re ready or not. You can have the best hair, the perfect dress, and a killer playlist, but if your ceremony’s timed for harsh overhead light or you miss golden hour by ten minutes? Your photos won’t be at their full potential.

If you’re opting for an indoor ceremony, be prepared for the gorgeous mountain views to not be fully visible in all of your final wedding photos. For those views, take some photos down near the cacti after the ceremony.

Timing for perfect photos

Golden hour isn’t a Pinterest term we throw around to sound poetic: it’s a real window of time where the desert pops off, and the light does all the heavy lifting for your photos and video! But out here? The light doesn’t linger. There’s no tree canopy softening things or buildings casting shade. It’s just raw desert sky doing whatever it wants, bold, fast, and dramatic as hell. You’ve got to be ready to move when the light hits, because once it’s gone, it’s gone. No extensions, no do-overs.

  • Midday desert sun: Brutal. Think overhead light, deep shadows, shiny foreheads, and everyone squinting like they just stepped onto the surface of the sun. It’s giving SPF 100 and “let’s get inside.”
  • Golden hour: That’s the good stuff. Warm, directional light. Skin looks soft. Textures come alive. The whole scene feels editorial without trying too hard.
  • Blue hour: The cool-down moment. The sun’s gone, but the sky still holds that moody, dusky glow. It’s quieter, a little dreamier, perfect for sneaky post-ceremony portraits or a just-married moment away from the chaos.

The best time for photos at Desert View Wedding Venue

We have to plan for the best sunlit photos. The best sun at Desert View Wedding Venue is Low Sun, which is about 30–45 mins before the actual sunset.

It offers a soft, glowy light that hits just right. This means no harsh shadows and no squinting. Just you two looking incredible without even trying.

Audra and Dominique got married at Desert View, a very popular wedding venue in Arizona. It’s known for its stunning view of the Superstition Mountains. A & D went all out for their wedding day, decorating with a pink boho theme, baby’s breath flower wall, comfy lounge furniture during cocktail hour, giant marquee letters of their new last name, and cold sparklers.

Their day was complete with getting ready photos, a first touch moment with just them, a touching ceremony, fun cocktail hour, and a banging reception with lots of dancing.
